Our Teachers
- Archer Cooperative Nursery School’s teaching staff is comprised of professionally trained pre school teachers who meet the educational requirements as outlined by the State of New Jersey. Our teachers are highly qualified and dedicated with deep roots in the Archer community. In fact, many of the teachers’ own children attended Archer in the past.
As a cooperative nursery school, the staff's close relationship with parents provides a uniquely warm nursery school environment. The school values open communication between the parents and staff on a regular basis, however, formal parent teacher conferences are held each spring.
All Archer staff members along with any parents participating in the classroom have successfully completed a state mandated criminal background check along with fingerprinting to ensure and maintain excellent safety standards.
Meet The Staff
Kathy Mcnaught, Director
Mrs. Mcnaught is excited to begin her second year as director at archer. A former assistant teacher at Archer, SHE brings with her a diverse range of school, corporate, non-profit and volunteer experience. Mrs. Mcnaught received a BA from Lehigh University and her NJ State Teaching Certification from Kean University. She worked 15 years in the corporate sector. her three children ARE all proud Archer alumni,. Mrs. Mcnaught lives with her family in Waldwick
Lorraine Smithuysen, Archer's Head Teacher / pre-K Teacher
Mrs. Smithuysen has enthusiastically taught at Archer Cooperative Nursery School for 17 years. Prior to teaching our pre-k program,, she taught OUR 3'S CLASS. Mrs. Smithuysen previously taught Kindergarten and 1st grade in Northvale public schools. She earned her degree in Early Childhood Education from William Patterson University. Mrs. Smithuysen is the mother of two children- her youngest is a proud Archer alumni!
Annmarie Graziano, 3’s teacher
Mrs. Graziano has thoroughly enjoyed teaching at archer these past two year.s. She has been a dynamic preschool teacher for over 25 years and earned a degree in Early Childhood Education from California College for Health Sciences. When not teaching, she works for Easter Seals mentoring young adults with disabilities. Mrs. Graziano also enjoys spending time with her three children, working out, and reading.
Christine Troy, 3's Teacher
Mrs. Troy is a wonderful asset to the archer staff. After eagerly working as an assistant teacher in the 3s for the past 3 years, she is thrilled for the opportunity to lead her own classroom.. .Mrs. Troy has more than 6 years experience in the classroom and is earning her teaching cda. Additionally, she is a certified Holistic Health Coach, mother of 4 and avid runner
risa D'angelo, 2.5's Teacher
- Mrs. D'Angelo has been a wonderful addition to our archer staff this past year. She is a certified nursery school teacher with 24 years of teaching experience. her enthusiasm and creativity is evident. additionally, mrs. D'angelo is pursuing an advanced degree in library science and can be found weekends working at the mahwah public library.
Barbara Toepert, Mommy & Me Teacher and 3's class assistant
Mrs. Toepert is celebrating her second year at Archer. Her Mommy and Me program has been very well received, and she is equally excited to be working with our 3 yr. olds this year. She is certified in nursery school education, elementary education and special education. Mrs. Toepert has attended Slippery rock University in Pennsylvania and received a masters degree from st. Thomas Aquinas college. she has taught kindergarten 10 years. Mrs. toepert,. her husband and their 2 sons live in Waldwick.
evelyn Pappas, 2.5's Assistant Teacher
Mrs. pappas has been a delightful assistant teacher in our 2.5's class this past year. She received her undergraduate degree from hofstra University. Mrs. Pappas is a former Archer mom who has extensive volunteer work and loves working with children. She and her husband are happily raising their 2 children in Allendale
Andrea MILIDANTRI, 3's Assistant Teacher
we are pleased to welcome mrs. milidantri to the archer family. mrs. milidantri comes to us with 12 years of experience working with children and has an associate's degree from Berkeley College of Business. She is a mother of 2 and lives with her family in Mahwah.
