OUR PROGRAMS

The curriculum for each class is developed to encompass the following areas as required by the State of New Jersey: Language Arts, Reading Readiness, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Art Music and Physical Movement. Our day is structured to encompass all of these areas. A typical day at Archer includes:

• Free play

• Circle Time

• Snack

• Activity

• Outside Play

In addition to the curriculum, children enjoy many special activities throughout the year.  We celebrate birthdays, holidays and our own Archer celebrations.  Guest visitors are also featured regularly such as a local firefighter, police officer and dentist.  Throughout the year we incorporate enriching programs for the children to enjoy which  promote learning and fun like Pat’s Pals Pets, a local musician, and our popular chick hatching program.  We offer the following programs.

2.5 YEAR OLDS

This class nurtures our youngest learners and helps children separate comfortably from moms and dads. The program provides opportunities for social interaction, listening, following directions, sharing and exploring. Children are nurtured and guided while learning through play. To join, children should turn two years old by March 1st.

Tuesday & Thursday: 9:00 AM-11;30 AM (Sept-Jan) Transition to 9:00 AM-12PM (Feb-June)

Optional 3rd day (Friday): 9:00-11;30 AM (Sept-Jan) Transition to 9:00 AM-12PM (Feb-June)

3 YEAR OLDS 

Children learn to share, listen, resolve their differences, follow instructions and practice independence.  This class encourages social interaction, reading readiness, language arts, science, math and social studies. Teachers skillfully balance guiding activities while allowing children to grow and explore through play.

Monday, Wednesday, & Friday: 9:00-12:00 PM

Optional 4th day (Thursday): 9:00-12:00 PM

Lunch Bunch offered Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday until 1:00 PM

PRE-K

This class prepares your child socially, emotionally, and academically for Kindergarten. The curriculum is thematically based and addresses every aspect of child growth and development. The program is designed to provide the children with experiences in language and communication, math readiness, science andcsocial studies. Some of the activities throughout the year include letter of the week, news of the day, writing journals and student of the week. Our pre-K children benefit from learning in group settings, through one-on-one interaction with the teacher and during essential playtime with peers.

Monday-Thursday: 9:00-12:00 PM

Optional 5th day (Friday): 9:00-12:00 PM

Lunch Bunch offered Monday-Thursday until 2:00 PM and on Friday until 1:00 PM 

LUNCH BUNCH

Archer offers “Lunch Bunch” classes that are extensions to the regular class time where children will continue to be engaged, learn and play. Lunch Bunch is teacher-directed fun. Activities vary daily and may include circle time, creative art activities, music, movement, independent choice, and playground time. Children bring their lunches to Lunch Bunch and eat with their friends. Lunch bunch classes may be combined with multiple age groups.
