In the Classroom

Your child's day may begin with a free play period during which he/she may have access to blocks, puzzles and manipulative toys, easel painting, dramatic play props, water or sand play, and computers. An art project may be offered simultaneously or following free play. Children have fun creating something meaningful while refining their small motor skills. Children also participate in clean-up time.

Outside Fun

Archer Cooperative Nursery School believes a vital part of a child’s education includes physical development.  As such, during pleasant weather, Archer’s playground provides opportunities for large muscle activities and fresh air fun!

Celebration Time

Throughout the year we have plenty to celebrate at Archer Cooperative Nursery School! From birthdays to holidays (like Halloween) to our own Archer celebrations, such as Teddy Bear Week!  Celebrations at Archer offer children an opportunity to experience a school day with special activities unique to that particular holiday or party.

Field Trips

All children need to experience directly and personally – to see, touch, hear and smell the world.  These experiences build first-hand awareness of the larger world.  Through a myriad of well-planned, age appropriate activities, the children have opportunity to explore new places under the guidance of our skilled teachers.  There are lots of fun and educational local trips our children experience, such as trips to farms, the police station, the dentist office, the Lorrimer Nature Sanctuary, and environmental centers.

From the Registration Packet: If you as a parent do not wish for your child's photograph to be released, you must notify the Director in writing of your wishes. The names of these students will be kept in the Director's office and strictly adhered to.
